The Department of German & Russian Studies at Binghamton University is hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach two courses per semester, to begin in fall 2025. We seek a colleague whose research and teaching are at the intersection of German Studies and Environmental Humanities. The successful applicant will bring to our department experience in teaching all levels of German and in program-building and outreach, as well as a commitment to service across disciplines on campus. A qualified internal candidate has been identified for this search.

Job Requirements:

A Ph.D. in German Studies is required. Candidates must demonstrate native or near-native fluency in both English and German, with the ability to speak and write proficiently in both languages. The successful applicant will have at least three years of teaching experience at the college level, and will have experience teaching German at the college level. Additionally, the successful candidate must be capable of situating their research and teaching at the intersection of German Studies and Environmental Humanities.
