Job Summary:

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for procurement of assigned commodities in addition to the management of master procurement data and government compliance for the supply base.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for purchase order placement and rescheduling to ensure appropriate line of supply.

  • Competitively bid and negotiate best total cost solutions.

  • Analyze and implement engineering changes.

  • Manage and optimize supplier performance including continuous improvement, obsolescence, and reduction in total cost of ownership.

  • Understand, track, and forecast key cost drivers and market factors for assigned commodities.

  • Support data entry functions related to Procurement as required.

Job Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive strategic procurement experience, preferably in machined/mechanical parts made to print as well as other commercially purchased parts.

  • Knowledge and experience of a variety of mandatory requirements including Federal Acquisition Regulations, (FAR/DFAR), Technical Assistance Agreements, and military regulations (EAR and ITAR) strongly preferred.

  • Experience in a high tech manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication, negotiating and organization skills.

  • Professional and team-based approach to problem solving with strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of SAP and proficiency in MS office tools is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 preferred.

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
