Boehringer Ingelheim Project Manager Research Beyond Borders in Biberach, Germany

The Position

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity? Join our team as a Project Manager in the Research Beyond Borders (RBB) department. In this role, you will be responsible for leading drug discovery projects from conception to delivery of a development candidate in areas beyond the indication and modality focus of Boehringer Ingelheim. You will bridge internal and external innovation by partnering with academic centers, biotech and CROs to increase Boehringer Ingelheim’s therapeutic reach. Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role you will scout for Novel Therapeutic Concepts in diseases with high patient need and set up new collaborations with external partners to ultimately deliver compounds for clinical development.

  • Moreover, you will negotiate, plan, steer, and monitor scientific and budgetary milestones with international partners as well as aligning the strategic fit and value of projects for Boehringer Ingelheim with internal stakeholders.

  • As a member of the Indication Expansion Team, you will be responsible for identifying novel applications for Boehringer Ingelheim's development compounds in collaboration with colleagues from Computational Sciences.

  • As a member of the RBB Core Teams you will evaluate new scientific directions for RBB, such as novel indications or therapeutic modalities and give recommendations for take up into RBB portfolio.

  • Furthermore, you will also publish cutting edge findings in leading peer-reviewed journals and represent the RBB Team in external meetings.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or Pharmacology with several years of experience in drug discovery with proven track record of advancing drug discovery projects through preclinical phases

  • Proven experience in the initiation and supervision of external collaborations (academia and biotech)

  • Talent in cross-functional leadership

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, high accountability and willingness to increase internal and external visibility of Research Beyond Borders

  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English
