Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a Senior Accountant to support our entertainment client on a 12-month long hybrid engagement in Los Angeles. In this role, you will support financial and statistical reporting and analysis for various business segments and work closely with the senior management of the contract management settlement team. The ideal candidate should have the ability to adjust, coordinate and align with internal and external department goals across multiple time zones. Must be a self-motivated individual, organized, detail-oriented and able to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of financial analytical tasks including the research of royalty variances, data summarizing, distributing the financial and operating results, and journal entries

• Prepare basic and standard analysis and reports on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis

• Work closely with internal management team, other departments, etc. on various analytical projects

• Assist with month end close including posting standard close entries, reconciliations of accounts, and research

• Effectively read and interpret contractual client user agreements.

• Monitor and review negative balances

• Help with escalated issues by working with regional and segment staff on pending cases and event errors

• Work with A/R department for invoice settlement deductions

• Review contracts and prepare revenue recognition schedules based on contract terms

• Ad-hoc projects as required or as necessary

Requirements

• Current knowledge or the ability to learn SAP ICM and Oracle IC

• Experience with financial contracts, revenue share calculations, and reconciliations

• 3+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting

• College Degree in Accounting or Finance Preferred

• Ability to work flexible hours

• Knowledge of basic Excel skills

• Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills.

• Detail oriented and highly organized.

• Preference for prior experience within the entertainment industry

• Experience with accessing, compiling, and analyzing large volumes of transactional data into actionable information required.
