What will you be doing in this role:

The Senior Epic Implementation Project Manager provides mentorship for operational groups and end users in the implementation of new clinical information systems, modules, and applications. Manages timelines and project risks/issues by effectively communicating to leadership. Functions as the liaison between EIS and the customer to ensure efficient workflow design, system build for customization, and optimization of clinical and revenue cycle systems to best serve our end users and patients. Aides in the development of project assessments and adheres to project management standards. Projects include the deployment of new Epic modules, Epic Revenue Cycle, Ambulatory, and Inpatient roll-outs/optimizations, population health tools/applications, patient engagement tools/applications, and new healthcare technologies.

  • Provides project management expertise for entire project life cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating the following functions: system requirements definition, process and/or workflow redesign, business case development, Request for Proposal development, vendor evaluation and selection, and contract negotiation and development. Ensures contract compliance, risk analysis, project scope, implementation management, and support transition.

  • Responsible for working with our operational partners in developing and planning the project timeline including all project phases-requirements: workflow, Q/A and testing, end-user training, go-live readiness and support.

  • Projecting resource requirements, ensuring appropriate assignment of resources to each project/support phase, adding and deleting resources as necessary, and has overall responsibility for completion of the project. Leads and manages the project within established time and budget parameters.

  • Provides informative and timely status reports using department reporting procedures for both internal EIS and external operational customers.

  • Keeps abreast of current trend and developments in the field through participation with vendor user groups, attending conferences, vendor demonstrations, and interacting with other vendor customers. Maintains a strong understanding of system development and project management methodologies.

  • Responds thoroughly and promptly to customer needs as defined in conjunction with customers. Assumes ownership of customer relationships and follows issues through to closure.

  • Mentors and assists junior staff on more complex projects.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Three (3) plus years of experience managing Epic system implementations, preferably as an Epic Project Manager in revenue cycle: PB, HB, and/or Patient Access.

Educational/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or technical field. (preferred)

PMP (Project Management Professional Certification, preferred.

Epic Certification preferred. (a plus in Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, and/or Patient Access)
