Job Title: Welder - 1st Shift

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG and TIG welding, be able to read blueprints, and use calipers and micrometers for precise measurements. This position offers a great opportunity for new graduates from technical schools to gain valuable experience and for seasoned welders to work in a supportive and accommodating environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on various parts and components.

• Grind parts to clean up weld metal.

• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.

• Use calipers and micrometers to measure and ensure accuracy of welded parts.

• Maintain a clean and organized work station.

• Assist in prepping bays with helpers.

Essential Skills

• MIG welding experience.

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Understanding of weld symbols.

• Proficiency in using calipers and micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding certificate from High School or Technical School.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a weld shop with up to 20 welders. The 1st shift runs from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Initial training lasts 1-2 weeks, typically on the 1st shift with a manager, after which employees work independently with periodic check-ins. The dress code includes jeans with no holes, boots, and a T-shirt. In the winter, it is recommended to dress warmly as the shop can get cold with doors opening frequently. A weld helmet is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
