Adecco US, Inc. Test and Transformer Engineer in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Overview:

Familiar with the engineering lab environment to conduct system level testing. Test electronics units and software, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.

The Transformer Magnetics Engineer is responsible for participating in the design, and development of magnetic products for UPS and emergency backup power systems. This person will be tasked to evaluate magnetic designs and responsible for all part selections, schematic capture, create magnetic specifications and build-up of magnetic parts.

Test and Transformer Magnetics Engineer must be able to participate in a team environment, while managing their own assigned responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify, evaluate, and propose quality improvements for high frequency switch mode power supply transformers from 5W-300W and low frequency Isolation and Auto power transformers from 100W-50kW).

  • Familiar with high and low frequency design of magnetic Inductors

  • End to end design, evaluation, and testing of transformers.

  • Thermal Design and analysis (FLOW simulation) is a plus

  • Design for manufacture and compliance including EMI and safety.

  • Specification and development of board test fixtures.

  • Create build-up drawings for magnetics.

  • Design, troubleshoot and validate magnetic parts with inverter systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of how to meet regulatory requirements (UL924) of magnetic parts

  • Familiar with the lab environment to conduct component and system level testing.

  • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.

  • Provide engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements.

  • Document technical design details.

  • Record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with coursework in magnetic designs (transformer and inductors), power electronics design, physics, mathematics, and statistics.

  • 3-5 years of related experience in the Testing of power conversion (more specific to UPS and emergency back-up) equipment and some transformer/magnetic design background and familiarity is required.

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
