Our Human Resources Business Partner offers HR consultation and support to designated client groups at the University, transforming strategies into impactful actions. Leveraging an understanding of various HR functions, they provide both operational and tactical support to their assigned areas. They also regularly liaise with other HR functions; including Employment, Benefits, Compensation, and Employee Relations, ensuring comprehensive and cohesive HR services. This position is a Grade: 9-40 with an approximate salary range of $54,390-$66,190 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications

  1. Consulting

•Work with area administrators to determine needs, goals, strategies and challenges •Work closely with the central HR team to implement goals and strategies designed for their specific area •Advise area leadership on basic HR matters forwarding specialty requests or significant concerns to central HR teams •Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation

  1. Operational and Strategic Support

•Work closely with Talent Acquisition to build talent strategies, processes and communication around hiring, onboarding and offboarding •Work closely with Learning Design and Development to design and implement training plans •Work closely with Employee Relations and Performance Management to address performance issues •Work closely with Compensation to create and review position descriptions, process position re-evaluations and re-organizations, and review salary positioning •Work closely with Benefits to answer basic policy and practice questions •Work closely with Human Resources on succession planning needs and assessments •Stay informed on necessary HR related rules and regulations from the DOL, EEOC, etc. •Help to develop and maintain employment practices and procedures related to Post-Docs, Pre-Docs and Researchers •Serve as an area expert on the the Talent Management system

  1. Liaising

•Facilitate a close working relationship between HR and assigned area •Work closely with all HR specialists, building a strong knowledge base of each discipline •Conducts regular meetings with assigned areas of responsibility

  1. Compile, analyze, and report on data

•Use a variety of software products and digital tools to make data driven decisions •Perform data analysis; related to area trends and provide recommendations •Prepare meaningful and attractive data sets for various audiences in various formats. Present such data at applicable meetings and training •Prepare standard reports; quarterly, annually, and on as needed basis while auditing data to ensure accuracy and completeness •Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and procedures

Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field

•Three to five years of related work experien e

•SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or PHR or SPHR credential is preferred

•Experience in an College/University setting is preferred

•Combinations of education, certifications, skills, and the preferred experience will be considered

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
