POSITION SUMMARY

The BI Analyst job consists of designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Power BI. This role involves creating interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights. The job also requires working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Additionally, the person will be responsible for optimizing performance, documenting processes, and providing training and support to end-users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as necessary.

Data Analytics and BI (80%)

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business requirements for data analysis and reporting.

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for Power BI solutions.

  • Integrate and transform data from various sources to ensure compatibility and accuracy in Power BI reports.

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all reports and dashboards.

  • Optimize performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure efficient data retrieval and visualization.

  • Monitor and improve data model performance.

  • Provide support for Power BI-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving data discrepancies and report inaccuracies.

  • Address and resolve support requests related to Power BI reports and data models.

  • Document processes, data models, and reporting solutions to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionalities and best practices.

  • Assist in the migration of data models and reporting solutions to cloud environments as needed.

  • Ensure seamless integration of Power BI solutions with cloud-based data sources.

    Artificial Intelligence (20%)

  • Leverage machine learning models to identify patterns and trends in data that may not be obvious through traditional analysis.

  • Implement AI algorithms to automate repetitive tasks in data preparation and reporting, enhancing efficiency.

  • Develop predictive models to forecast future trends based on historical data, integrating these predictions into Power BI reports.

  • Utilize NLP to enable more intuitive querying of data through natural language queries in Power BI.

  • Apply AI techniques to detect anomalies or outliers in data, providing early warnings for potential issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or other related fields.

  • 3+ Year of experience in developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.

Specialized Skills and Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in data modeling and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

  • Experience with data integration and transformation using various data sources (SQL, Excel, etc.).

  • Familiarity with creating and optimizing semantic data models for Power BI.

  • Knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data.

  • Have experience and analytical skills to translate data into actionable insights, reports and visuals.

  • Have a comprehensive understanding and experience of row-level security and its application in BI reporting.

  • Proficiency in M & DAX language

  • Working knowledge or R or Python for Statistical Analysis

  • Experience in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, etc.) is a plus.

  • Understanding of ETL processes and tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

  • Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and user experience design.
