     TITLE: Translator/Interpreter QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Fluent in spoken English and Second Language 2. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status REPORTS TO: Supervisor of ELL JOB GOAL: The district translator/interpreter serves primarily as a spoken language interpreter and as a resource to other district personnel requiring assistance with non-English speaking persons. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attends school-based meetings, interpreting as requested.

• Collaborates with administrators and teachers by translating at conferences when scheduled in advance. May require evening appointments.

• Maintains confidentiality as required and appropriate.

• Reviews written material for the purpose of interpreting.

• Translates written material between English and second language as requested.

• Serves as a liaison between school and home, reaching out to families as directed.

• Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
