WHAT YOULL DO

PlusOne Central Engineering is the development team behind the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform SAP Converged Cloud. We are running in 15 SAP owned data centers distributed world-wide. By augmenting an opinionated OpenStack distribution with bespoke services, we are meeting the demand of SAPs cloud business. As true advocates for open source, we are underpinning our operations with Kubernetes and a cloud-native tech stack.

Our roadmap includes transforming SAP Converged Cloud into a public cloud offering and expanding its capabilities with new services to support SAP Business AI and SAP BTP. A development hotspot is the evolution of network capabilities around firewall and connectivity into API-driven services. We are also reimagining how to provision compute, gpu, storage, and network devices. The development tasks span from bare metal up to the API layer.

If youre ready to code, configure, or cloudify everything from silicon to software, weve got a spot for you. In this role you will:

• design and develop API driven services powered by OpenStack and Kubernetes

• code primarily in Python or Golang

• contribute to different, well-known upstream open-source projects and help maintain our own open-source initiatives.

• be given the opportunities to further your knowledge and delve into complex problems to develop solid and complete solutions.

WHAT YOU BRING

We are seeking an innovative, communicative, and self-driven individual with technical competence. Your expertise in cloud techniques, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service, containers, networking, orchestration, and automation, is highly valued.Additionally you bring:

• Degree in Applied Sciences. Preferred field of study: Computer Science or related field.

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or OpenStack.

• Track record of software development preferably with Golang or Python

• Ability to approach complex problems systematically along with a sense of ownership and drive.

• Preferably experience working with Kubernetes and related cloud native technologies.

• Experience with agile practices and CI/CD driven development

• Knowledge of Linux, open-source hypervisors, network equipment or storage systems would be an advantage.

Soft skills: Excellent abstract problem-solving skills, high level of commitment and reliability, good communication skills, fun working in a multinational team, understanding the dynamics of communication in open-source projects.
