What you'll do:

PlusOne Central Engineering is the development team behind the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform SAP Converged Cloud. We are running in 15 SAP owned data centers distributed world-wide. By augmenting an opinionated OpenStack distribution with bespoke services, we are meeting the demand of SAPs cloud business. As true advocates for open source, we are underpinning our operations with Kubernetes and a cloud-native tech stack.

Our roadmap includes transforming SAP Converged Cloud into a public cloud offering and expanding its capabilities with new services to support SAP Business AI and SAP BTP. A development hotspot is the evolution of network capabilities around firewall and connectivity into API-driven services. We are also reimagining how to provision compute, GPU, storage, and network devices. The development tasks span from bare metal up to the API layer.

A Cyber Security Design Expert is a specialized role focused on the strategic design and architecture of secure systems and infrastructures within an organization. This position is critical in ensuring that all systems, networks, and applications are developed and implemented with robust security measures from the ground up.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Cloud Infrastructure Fundamentals: Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including the design and secure implementation of cloud solutions.

• Linux / Kubernetes / OpenStack: Strong experience working with Linux-based systems and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenStack.

• Cloud Engineering Practices: Hands-on experience with cloud engineering best practices, including automated security and infrastructure as code (IaC).

• Identity Management Toolbelt: Experience working with SAML, OAuth, OIDC protocols to secure and manage identities across platforms.

• Operational Process Design: Expertise in operational process design, documentation, and implementation of security protocols.

• Log Analysis Tools: Familiarity with ELK Stack, Splunk, OpenSearch for log management, analysis, and incident investigation.

• Threat Detection and Mitigation: Experience in troubleshooting and identifying Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) across systems.

• Red and Purple Teaming: Proven experience in Red Team and Purple Team exercises to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen defenses.

• Leadership & Team Management: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams or third-party vendors, ensuring alignment with security goals.

• Experience establishing, managing, and scaling a 24/7 Cyber Defense or Security Operations Center (SOC).

• Service-Oriented Mindset: Approach security design with a service-driven mentality, prioritizing business needs and operational effectiveness.

• Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and MSP relationships, aligning efforts with organizational security goals.

Meet your team:

The SAP Converged Cloud is a private cloud solution managed by SAP. It is an internal Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform deployed worldwide in 17 regions to support all of SAPs cloud businesses on a global scale.

You will join an engineering team who is responsible for combining processes and technology regarding security, reliability, and compliance of SAPs Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform. As a key contributor to the development of the security and compliance of the Open Reference Architecture project, you will collaborate with peers within your team and across teams developing additional services.
