Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation Research Assistant I (2025-01) in Berkeley, California
PIRE has a significant national presence in the area of applied science, with funded research projects at its centers on prevention, treatment, and policy research. PIRE scientists and practitioners continually focus on the design and implementation of complex program evaluation strategies and the conduct of research related to health and social issues, and criminal justice. Position Summary
The Prevention Research Center (PRC) is looking for a part-time, Research Assistant who will work within an on-going Tribal health policy research study. There is no travel for this hybrid role. The pay for this position is $20 per hour. This staff person will work 4 hours per week.
Job Requirements
- 18 of age or older
- Eligible to work for any employer in the USA
- Background experience in Tribal health, Tribal law and policy, and/or Tribal social administration
- Well organized and able to work independently as well as in a team, with demonstrated ability to work respectfully with Tribal officials, following Tribally-appropriate protocols and procedures
- Detail oriented, able to accurately analyze information and provide reports to the project staff in a timely manner.
- Prior experience in Tribal behavioral health and/or law research and practice highly desirable
- Bilingual/bicultural preferred
- Applicants may work on their own time for some tasks; however some tasks may involve coordinating with Tribal leaders schedules (generally M-F 9 am to 5pm across various US time zones).
Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinating with project directors to support analyses of Tribal laws and policies concerning health and safety
- Coordinating with Tribal leadership to schedule and complete data collection
- Support reporting to Tribal leaders
- Attending staff meetings and assigned trainings
