What you'll do...

Job Summary:

As a Distinguished Software Engineer in the Risk Technology organization, you will be expected to leverage your expertise in software engineering to drive innovative solutions that prioritize customer trust and privacy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget.

Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring and guiding other software engineers to ensure that they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this rapidly evolving field.

Responsible for Global Privacy Technology Product implementation(s) so that we can earn customers and associate trust.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and maintain product technical architecture, aligning it with business goals and scalability requirements.

  • Design and oversee the development of scalable and fault-tolerant distributed systems that can handle high volumes of data and traffic with strong focus on Quality Attributes (e.g., performance, security, scalability, reliability etc.) and building sustainable products.

  • Design data processing pipelines and frameworks to efficiently ingest, transform, and analyze large datasets from diverse sources.

  • Establish and maintain the product architecture capability map.

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Various Data Provider teams, business stakeholders, and external stakeholders.

  • Do proof-of-concepts and provide strategic & technical recommendations in various products areas.

  • Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, conducting research to identify emerging tools and methodologies.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders on specific product areas.

  • Collaborate with product and business leaders throughout the company to ensure that technology initiatives align with business needs.

  • Document architectural decisions, design patterns, data engineering and service design standards, policies, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing across the broader organization.

What You'll Bring:

  • Thorough understanding of Microservice, Data Mesh Architecture, and Cloud Native Architecture

  • CI/CD Pipeline: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes, improving development efficiency and code quality.

  • Broad experience in both back-end and front-end development, with proficiency in the following tech stack: React, NestJS, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, and NoSQL databases.

  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and delivery of software products with a large user base.

  • Strong track record in an architect role with large-scale software development data backed services and applications with a clear vision for architecture design and great communication skills to articulate that to all levels of stakeholders.

  • Track record of collaboration and influence - recognized as a great partner for the business and technology teams.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
