Summer Camp Counselor, Bentonville, AR

Work with summer camp programs & in the YAC!

Do you enjoy teaching, interacting, and creating fun for kids? We would love to have you join our team as a Summer Camp Counselor at Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness in NW Arkansas. In this role, you'll care for children in the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness summer program by providing child supervision, executing lesson plans, and leading age-appropriate activities. You'll provide a safe environment by interacting with children in a compassionate manner while using judgment to determine potential safety or discipline issues and communicate with Youth Coordinator regarding challenges that may arise. Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. May be onsite 7AM-6PM. Summer role (May 20 thru August 9) with opportunity to stay on board!

Key Accountabilities:

  • Enthusiastically lead and support participants through program activities. Participate in child’s activities such as reading, painting, crafts, & play.

  • Work with Youth Coordinator and program staff to plan and coordinate activities.Performs administrative functions, research, and plans age-appropriate group activities to keep children engaged and active.

  • Clean, maintain, and ensure proper use of facilities and equipment.

  • Monitor participants to ensure compliance with rules, prevent accidents, and identify inappropriate behaviors. Proactively address and de-escalate inappropriate behavior. Provide accurate and timely reports of incidents or accidents to program coordinator, staff, and parents.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.

  • Ability to lift, move, squat, and stand on feet for long periods of time.

  • Knowledge and experience with school age children is strongly preferred along with experience in customer service.

  • Ability tonavigateelectronic onboarding and timecard systems. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.
