Walmart Specialist, Cabinet Maker in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.

Essential Functions:

An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Builds custom cabinets and furniture by cutting, assembling, and finishing projects that comply with ADA and fire codes. Delivers and installs cabinets and furniture by scheduling installation to cause the least disruption in work schedules; arranging transportation to site; and attaching furniture to wall or floor. Designs custom furniture and cabinet solutions by communicating and identifying customer needs; designing functional furniture considering location of finished project; coordinating final design for acceptability; visiting site of installation for final project; determining the finish required on the project; scheduling installation time with customer; and following up with customer after installation. Maintains cabinets and furniture by correcting, adjusting, and repairing problems and damage. Procures materials by negotiating with vendors on price and availability of materials and new products; purchasing materials required for project completion; picking up and arranging delivery of materials; ensuring delivery of correct items; providing receipts to Administrative Coordinator; and tracking materials billing. Ensures available materials for projects by contacting suppliers; negotiating prices; selecting vendor or supplier; ordering materials;(for example, lumber, hardware, laminate, paint); contacting suppliers; and receiving and storing material. Ensures compliance with federal state and local safety laws, regulations and guidelines (for example, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations) by ensuring team members wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and use tools according to manufacturer and safety guidelines. Ensures customer satisfaction by communicating with customer to ensure needs are met; assessing and resolving customer complaints; coordinating design changes or requests; and following up with customer throughout furniture design process. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Safely operates a motor vehicle. Travel:

Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites during the workday.

Work Environment

Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position. Moves through narrow, confined spaces such as stacks of merchandise or supplies, storage areas, and closets. Moves over sloping, uneven surfaces such as the parking lot, building perimeter, receiving bays, sections of the facility which have temporary cracks, or areas under repair. Moves over slippery surfaces in the work area as well as other areas that may become slippery during inclement weather. Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. Works at heights, including on roofs, on scaffolding, or in ceiling spaces. Works overnight as required. Works varying shifts as required.

Minimum Qualifications

5 years experience with framing houses, building construction, or working in a cabinet shop. 1 year experience with drafting or drawing plans.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years experience in a cabinet shop.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00-$40.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
