Walmart Senior Manager, Epidemiology in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Senior Manager, Epidimiology will be responsible for driving the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and communication of epidemiology studies autonomously. Ensures high-quality delivery across all phases of research projects. This opportunity is based on site at our home office in Bentonville Arkansas.

The ideal candidate has contributed to the design and execution of a study that has been included within a regulatory submission, such as an external control arm (ECA) study

You'll sweep us off our feet if...

  • You have extensive experience in eading study design and methods development for various kinds of clinical research projects that support the drug development process, including RWE and prospective research

  • You have expertise in writing study protocols, working collaboratively with statistical programmers/data analysts, and interpreting and communicating methods & results to various audiences

  • You have a strong working knowledge of various methods and study designs that can be used to generate regulatory-grade studies from different types of data, including retrospective databases or prospectively captured data

  • You have familiarity with the nuances to conducting studies using various kinds of real-world data (RWD) sources and methods that can be used to address data abnormalities or missingness

Drives the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and communication of epidemiology studies autonomously. Ensures high-quality delivery across all phases of research projects.

Offers expertise and leadership in epidemiological and outcomes research to facilitate evidence generation throughout pharmaceutical development. This includes maximizing market potential, managing risks, and optimizing methodologies.

Spearheads innovative approaches in designing clinical and epidemiological/outcomes research programs, aiming at effective commercialization strategies. Continuously evaluates and refines methodologies to stay ahead in the field.

Sets benchmarks for the utilization of real-world evidence, offering methodological leadership and contributing to the development of real-world evidence strategies. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust data sourcing and analytic strategies.

Drives business value by transforming complex epidemiological data into actionable insights. Provides strategic recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.

Fosters collaborative relationships with strategic partners and customers across the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical companies, service providers, and academic institutions. Facilitates knowledge exchange and collaborative initiatives.

Provides visionary scientific leadership, emphasizing data-driven solutions that promote diversity and equity. Advocates for inclusive practices in epidemiological research and ensures representation in research strategies and outcomes.

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Master's degree in epidemiology.

Prior work experience in asset development.

Prior work experience in the pharmaceutical industry or in closely related academic epidemiological/outcomes research.

Prior work experience utilizing secondary data.

Sustained productivity in epidemiological/outcomes research as demonstrated by the successful design, execution, and publication of original research relevant to drug discovery and development (for example, drug safety) or commercialization in peer-reviewed journal.
