Our Bentonville, AR textiles laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Assistant, who is ready to help our customers achieve their safety, security and sustainability goals, meet quality and performance expectations, manage risk and achieve regulatory compliance.

A Laboratory Assistant::

• Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.

• Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.

• Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.

• Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.

• As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.

• Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.

• Records and explains test results.

• Reads and interprets results of tests.

• Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.

• Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.

• Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.

• As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.

• Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.

• Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.

• Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.

• Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.

• Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.

• Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

• Performs other duties as directed.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.

• Ability to work on-site at Bentonville location, Monday - Friday, 2pm-10:30pm is required.

• Will work 8am - 4:30pm for first 2 weeks for training, before starting evening shift.

• Must be well-organized, and comfortable working autonomously.
