Walmart Director, Global Communications - Tech (Walmart International & Sam's Club) in Bentonville, Arkansas

About the Team…

Walmart is a people-led, tech-powered company, and we are searching for an experienced technology communicator who wants to be at the center of it. This role is responsible for positioning Walmart as the leader of the next era of retail highlighting how emerging technologies like GenAI, AI and AR/VR/Mixed Reality are powering this transformation. This is a high impact role for someone who wants to push the boundaries of what’s possible, while bringing joy to the workplace.

What you'll do...

  • Create a bold strategy that highlights the incredible emerging technologies powering Walmart International and Sam’s Club

  • Proactively and regularly invest time to build relationships with national and local reporters, producers and editors

  • Collaborate across global communications team members, improving culture while telling multi-dimensional stories

  • Communicate with brevity and purpose, making complex tech topics simple and easy to understand

  • Establish Walmart International and Sam’s Club Chief Technology executives as industry leaders and experts

  • Modernize the way we communicate, constantly testing new ways to make an impact

What you’ll bring…

  • Experience working in tech comms both in-house and at a big agency

  • Strong relationships with tech reporters

  • Strong grasp of the tech speaking circuit

  • Systems and passion for project management

  • Extremely high standards and care about the details

  • A proven track record of exceeding goals and expectations

  • Ability to move with speed

  • Ability to contribute to a team dynamic

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area. 2 years’ supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
