Heritage Environmental Services, LLC Inventory Control & Purchasing Manager in Benton, Arkansas

Primary Purpose: Responsible for all inventory and purchasing functions for the Benton Location.

Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.

  • Manage purchasing, storeroom, and inventory functions to ensure continuity of supply.

  • Create, code, and receive purchase orders in PeopleSoft.

  • Ordering and setting delivery of all goods for plant operation and inventory replenishment.

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, prices, suppliers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly in conjunction with corporate procurement programs.

  • Establish and manage appropriate inventory levels for stock items.

  • Maintain acceptable cycle count program and perform root cause analysis on inventory errors.

  • Maintain proper month end reporting for inventory purposes.

  • Ensure the storeroom/warehouse remains clean and neatly organized.

  • Establish and maintain vendor relations and reliable sources for supplying goods and services.

  • Implement the general purchasing strategy to drive cost reduction initiatives, supplier quality and supplier performance improvement.

  • Aggregate and leverage company spend across all departments and locations to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).

  • Negotiate/review contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.

  • Participate on corporate procurement Center of Excellence(COE).

  • Maintain location SOPs on financial system and process.

  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems regarding delivery, quality, price or conditions of sale.

  • Coordinate with corporate for accounts payable issues.

  • Coordinate with supply chain/procurement for supplier set up and for corporate preferred suppliers.

  • Supervise, mentor, and grow storeroom/purchasing personnel.

  • Audit reports for management regarding budgeted vs. actual expenditures as needed.

  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.

    Education : Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Experience: Min 5 years purchasing/inventory experience in a manufacturing environment required.

    Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required

Knowledge and Abilities: Computer literacy - proficient in MS Word and Excel. Experience in Peoplesoft (or other ERP. Required Proven negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines in fast paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Professional appearance and attitude. Knowledge of chemicals and maintenance helpful. Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multi-faceted working environment and change. Ability to handle diversified assignments and assist with special projects.
