OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:\ Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Intake Specialist is the initial point of contact for individuals requesting services. The Intake Specialist gathers vital information, completes the admissions process, and aligns individuals with the appropriate clinical services.\ 1.0 Major Responsibilities:\ Answers, screens, and documents inquiry calls and emails from prospective clients.\ Respects client dignity and confidentiality.\ Completes the intake process for new clients efficiently and in accordance with Agency processes and protocols.\ Obtains pertinent information from new clients by conducting interviews courteously and professionally.\ Collects data during the admission process to include demographic and financial information, completes all appropriate consents and disclosures as well as the Initial Risk Screening.\ Collects insurance information and ensures that it aligns with our providers credentials.\ Ensures that all admission forms are properly signed and documented in the Agencys Electronic Health Record (EHR).\ Works in collaboration with administrative and clinical staff to assure individuals receive Same Day Access to services.\ Aligns individuals with the appropriate service (FAST, MAT, Emergency Services, FES, etc.)\ Refer individuals (children, adults, and families) to internal and external resources, including the Early Childhood Services Division (Bennington County Head Start).\ Collaborate with clinical teams to include Case Managers, Clinicians, Crisis Teams, and Clinical Directors to assist individuals in accessing the medical, social, educational resources, and other services within our agency and community.\ Refers individuals to private therapists in Bennington County for those who do not have health insurance that aligns with our providers credentials and those that are outside of our catchment area.\ 2.0 Key Qualifications and Skills\ Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and/or approaches to problems.\ Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.\ Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.\ Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making.\ Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others actions.\ Work Environment: The ability to work in a demanding environment with time sensitive materials.\ Confidentiality: The ability to scrupulously keep confidences and maintain State and Federal privacy mandates.\ Working with Others: The ability to work well with others within the agency and stakeholders and to work politely with difficult individuals.\ Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.\ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.\ Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.\ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\ Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.\ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.\ Experience in working in an Electronic Health Record.\ Able to work independently and successfully in a team environment.\ Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.\ Knowledge of the Vermont Department of Mental Health, Designated Agency system.\ Familiarity with quality principles\ Travel to agency facilities may be required. Other travel may be required to attending meetings and trainings.\ Ab lity to demonstrate maturity, leadership, flexibility, and creativity in performance.\ This position will exhibit excellent operational skills, data-informed decision making, collaboration and a high-level of autonomy.\ \ * In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE / CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:\ BS/BA in Human Services preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the following field(s):\ o Behavioral Healthcare\ o Customer Service / Administrative Support\ COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:\ Microsoft Office Suite\ Electronic Health Record Experience preferred\ Exceptional Customer Service and Telephone Etiquette and Written Communications
