Job Description Summary

As Sr Manager - AI Engineering, you will be part of SaaS and Digital Innovation team. You will be responsible for AI Engineering services for ensuring Data science models are integrated and deployed in production with optimal resources and performance. You will lead a team of ML Ops architect and collaborate with data scientists across IT functions for timely activation of data science models. You will oversee the deployment, automation, monitoring and management of machine learning models to streamline end-to-end machine learning lifecycle.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Model Deployment: Lead the deployment of machine learning models into production, using AIsphere (In house tool built around AWS Sage maker) and Factory (In house tool built on Kubernetes based containerization for data science models) tools

  • Automation: Develop and implement automation pipelines for model training, testing, and deployment using CI/CD principles.

  • Monitoring and Management: Establish monitoring tools and frameworks to track model performance, data drift, and system health. Ensure timely updates and maintenance of models.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists to understand model requirements and provide support for model development and optimization. Interact with customers/stakeholders in VOC requirements-gathering and obtaining product feedback of AIsphere

  • Security and Compliance: Ensure ML systems and processes comply with GEHC data policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of ML operations processes, tools, and configurations.

  • Innovation: Stay current with the latest ML Ops trends, tools, and technologies. Propose and implement improvements to AIsphere product.

  • Possess an understanding of the technology stacks and impact on final product.

  • Routinely collaborate with customer success delivery, architecture and development teams on multiple issues and decisions

  • Own AI model deployment roadmaps

  • Track metrics and KPIs for success of AIsphere and Factory products.

  • Demonstrate strategic expert level skills in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • 5+ years of experience in machine learning, software engineering, Big Data Engineering or DevOps. 3+ Years of people leadership.

  • Proven experience in managing ML models in production environments.

  • Strong team leadership experience, coaching and mentoring.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.

  • Strong knowledge of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)

  • Experience with AWS cloud platform and Sage maker

  • Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins etc.)

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (ELK stack)

  • Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.

  • Has the ability to analyse impact of technology choices and recommend best practices.

  • Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team and balancing value propositions for competing stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and to drive market timing decisions.

Leadership:

  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources.

  • Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions

  • Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas.
