Google Software Engineer, Local Search Ads Quality in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.

  • Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

  • Experience in back-end development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in full-stack development.

Local Search Ads (LSA) is a high impact area of Search Ads and a key part of the Local Ads team that focuses on local queries on Google.com. In this role, you will focus on LSA quality, coverage, and back-end infrastructure, creating visible impact to our users and advertisers to generate more value/growth towards our long-term strategy.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

  • Lead efforts to uncover new opportunities that fuel the growth for local search ads thus creating strong business impact for Google.

  • Design and develop next generation algorithms, models, and systems improving the quality and coverage of the local search ads.

  • Work on projects spanning a range of technical domains including quality experimentation, extreme low latency, infrastructure, feature engineering, logs analysis, advertiser reporting, and production stability.

  • Engage with stakeholders from several other teams cross-functionally, including Geo Data, Local Search, Ads Serving, Auctions, Ads Quality, etc.

  • Help create documentation, sustainable processes, and principles that allow the team to iterate faster.
