We build tools and services for new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our mission is to give our customers best-in-class DevOps services to manage their code, build and deployments within OCI. We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in building DevOps platforms for our customers. We want to make DevOps a pleasant experience for our customers
As a Principal software engineer, you will own driving software architecture for major components of Developer Services. You should be a distributed systems generalist, able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Responsibilities
This role is ideally suited to someone with a good Bachelor’s degree or Masters conversion in a software-related subject (or equivalent experience) and at least 8 years’ experience as a software engineer/developer.While we don’t stipulate hard minimum requirements, a suitable baseline might include:
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of related work experience.
Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in developing distributed, fault tolerant, scalable applications.
Proficient in software development methodology with at least 3+ years coding experience in Java. Terraform knowledge is a bonus.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python and proficient understanding of Continuous Integration and deployment and tools chain like GIT, Maven, Jenkins/Teamcity, etc.
Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership and drive.
Proven experience and knowledge around cloud infrastructure.
Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
Self-motivated and proactive, able to learn quickly and apply new concepts
