Wells Fargo Senior Securities Operations Specialist in Bengaluru, India

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Securities Operations Specialist.

Candidate will be responsible for providing reconcilement support to all of the Lines of business groups within Wholesale Operations across APAC, EMEA, USA & Canada. The reconciliation includes Detailed Nostro/GL; Subsystem; Cash Substantiation; Portfolio Recon; FX Position; Supplemental (Multiple System Data comparison) and SWIFT Messages/Payments. Team Members will closely work with multiple departments/stakeholders (Finance, Cash, Operations, Static Data, Production Support, Technology, etc.) across globe to identify efficiencies and establish the necessary key controls/reports to capture all risk related items across all Reconciliations performed in Wholesale Operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex lifecycle initiatives and support tasks and act as a participant in large-scale planning and deliverables; identify opportunity for process improvements within Securities Operations

  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational tasks or challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

  • Independently resolve moderately complex issues on a full process within a trade environment while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; may lead team to meet deliverables

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for lower-level staff

  • Manage expertise in the following operational processes including client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, and general ledger reconciliation

  • Resolve moderately complex escalated issues within the scope of responsibility in Security Operations

  • Research moderately complex business risks, influence policies, enhance customer satisfaction, and review time sensitive documents and transaction requests

  • Exercise independent judgment in understanding trade settlement workflow controls to minimalize the effects of operational breakdowns

  • Contribute to overall effectiveness of the team according to plans; monitor daily securities and cash related production work

  • Lead or contribute to implementation of projects and new or revised processes and procedures that require coordination among operation teams and perform analysis for initiatives that support business strategies making decisions on matters with financial impact and risk

  • BI Tool– Ability to create dashboard designs with wireframes to develop a coherent story thru data visualizations using tools like Tableau, PowerBI, etc.

  • The role will require to use ML, AI algorithms to build optimizations as well as do deep dive, Alteryx migration, Cognos migration, etc

  • Ability to pull data using Python and knowledge of SQL is must

  • This role will be responsible for partnering across the Wholesale Lending Organization teams to understand operational workflow, Reconciliations and its related processes and hence be able to deliver operational efficiency initiatives

  • Designing analysis projects flow and documentation that is structured for consistency, easy to understand, and to be offered to multiple levels of reviewers, partners, and regulatory agents demonstrating research and analysis completed

  • Applies knowledge of business, customers, and products to synthesize data to 'form a story' and align information to contrast/compare to industry perspective. Data involved typically very large, structured, or unstructured, and from multiple sources

  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be able to meet high quality standards consistently

  • Ensure accurate reporting across the WOSS Reconcilement platforms via Reconciliation Investigation Engine (RIE), Snapshot, Subsystem Reconciliation Presentation Layer (SRPL), IntelliMatch, Iris Web

  • Prepare and distribute various recon reports like Policy violations, approaching due, Suspense aging etc.

  • Provide assistance to WOSS Reconcilement team and ensure that they are adhere to compliance and various regulatory standards (QSA-Quality Self-Assessment, Audit, Financial Oversight & Monitoring team, Corporate Controllers)

  • Provide intermediary support between the WOSS Recon team, Operations, Finance and Controllers to do Account Validations and Accounts are set-up appropriately

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Securities Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in banking industry required

  • A Bachelors/Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis

  • Partner Management experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

  • Strong experience developing SAS, SQL, Tableau, Python, Alteryx, Power BI

  • Strong experience in an environment that utilizes large relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, or Teradata

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Detail oriented, results driven, and has the ability to navigate in a quickly changing and high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities

  • Ability to research and report on a variety of issues using problem solving skills

  • Proven ability/proficiency with the use of various types of automation

  • Thorough knowledge on Nostro/Vostro, Foreign Exchange, SWIFT

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Open to any shifts (as applicable for APAC, EMEA, USA & Canada)
