Amazon Senior Manager - Regional SLP in Bengaluru, India

Amazon India Security and Loss Prevention (INSLP) team is seeking highly skilled, competent, motivated and passionate security professional who could partner in developing and implementing a world class security program for India operations network.

The Regional Security and Loss Prevention Manager (SLPM) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) team in India.

The Regional SLPM supports their team with managing complex security and loss prevention operational tasks and decisions.

The Regional SLPM will work in collaborate with SLP program teams and other business stakeholders to drive and deliver SLP initiatives within the region or in projects/tasks assigned.

Key job responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Regional SLPM would include, but limited to the following:-

• Plan, organize, coordinate, implement and execute processes and procedures.

• Prepare and develop workable plans to sustain and deliver to organizations goals, forecast budget requirements,etc

• Assist with investigations of internal and external theft/fraud while ensuring compliance with relevant Amazon professional and ethical standards as well as with local legislation.

• identify forward looking path and make diligent trade-offs on short verses long-term needs in a fast-paced operational environment where change is constant.

• Ensures the right people are in the right job. Engage effectively with team and actively builds succession plans and creates leadership opportunities for their team members.

• Leads independently with limited guidance, but influences and negotiates effectively. Works actively to overcome barriers for self and team.

• Creates best practices. May negotiate new boundaries for their area of ownership to achieve a better, more efficient outcome.

• Proactively identify risk impacting operations and plan for business continuity engagements with the right stakeholders.

• Utilize continuous improvement techniques to evaluate current and future security services, processes, and initiatives. Shall possess working knowledge of project management and Lean Six Sigma methodology.

A day in the life

The primary objective of the Regional SLPM will be to effectively lead a team of security professionals within the region and invent mechanisms that support INSLP strategic and tactical plans. The Regional SLPM is accountable to deliver to the organizations strategic goals for which they will be required to inspire and communicate bold direction for their teams.

The Regional SLPM shall create sustainable workflows and scalable, long-term mechanisms for their teams and stakeholder functions.

They shall be proficient with MS Excel to analyze data and experienced in writing memos/narratives for strategic and tactical discussions.

Basic Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required from a recognized university.

• 10+ years’ experience in a people management role, leading teams, and growing organizations

• 7+ years’ experience in Security and/or Loss Prevention within a supply chain, warehousing or oil and gas, environment, including significant experience in distribution and logistics operations at management level, with a minimum of 3 years managing a team of junior security management professionals (excluding third party guarding/security service providers)

• Proven experience in Security Risk Management, and the conduct of Security Risk Assessments.

• Proficient with MS Office Professional Suite, including intermediate knowledge of Excel

• Decision Making/ Problem Solving - ability to proactively gather relevant operational data from appropriate sources, conduct investigative analysis to identify security/loss prevention opportunities.

• Communication and Influencing - Excellent verbal and written communication

• Experience in a similar senior level role and proven ability to handle senior stakeholders

• Experience handling multi-faceted teams within an ever-changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant security experience from military, Police or para-military

• Qualified in Lean Six Sigma (Yellow, Green, black belts)

• Project Management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP)

• ASIS Certification (CPP, PSP, PCI etc.)

• Experience with security equipment and technology such as intrusion detection devices, access control systems, and video review system

• Certified in non-confrontational interviewing and interrogation techniques through Wicklander and Zulawski, REID or PEACE would be an added advantage for this role.
