Google Operations Manager, Optical, Global Network Repair in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.

  • 6 years of experience managing and building teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing in a Network Operations Center environment.

  • Experience collaborating with leadership across various disciplines and being a point of contact for stakeholders, planners, designers, and operational business partners.

  • Experience identifying metrics and Key Performance Indicators to measure network operations center performance to report to the management team.

  • Ability to lead a team of Network Operations Center engineers and drive improvements in key operations performance indicators.

  • Communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals, and meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.

  • Partner and align with vendors, deployment teams, and partner teams.

  • Direct and prioritize resources while maintaining quality and adherence to network standards.

  • Deliver network capacity for Google through generation of bill of materials, Deployment Packages, device management, vendor management, and standard workflow based activation.

  • Triage of network issues, identification of root cause, generation of Maintenance Operation Procedure, and orchestration for network repair and completion of on-site work in support of the repair activity.
