We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Subject Matter Expert to join our CBRE Design Collective Team India. As an SME, you will provide critical inputs on the MEP design of various Asset classes both under construction and completed. Your expertise and experience in MEP systems design will be essential in ensuring that projects meet industry standards, maximize energy efficiency, and comply with building codes. This role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems.

  • Represent Design Collective daily to our Client, the Contractor & the Project Manager

  • Experience on design and build project would be advantageous.

  • An understanding of all MEP and building services design and to coordinate within the spatial constraints of a project is essential.

  • Strong communication skills will be required to interact with project stakeholders, where necessary explaining our designs and providing direction to our design team.

  • Commercial awareness essential with an understanding and ability to administer Change Control.

  • Previous experience of leading multi-disciplinary design teams and responsibilities for budgets and programming

  • Aspiration to grow with responsibility and to manage a growing team of skilled engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership - Lead a team of MEP Engineers and give guidance on technical design for projects for Design to be implemented seamlessly as per client desired project goals and budget.

MEP Design Inputs: Provide technical guidance and expertise on MEP systems design of completed / under construction properties. Offer insightful recommendations for optimized MEP layouts, systems selection, and sustainability initiatives.

Code Compliance: Ensure that MEP designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards, taking into account electrical systems, HVAC , plumbing, fire protection systems, and related infrastructure.

Technical Reviews: Conduct comprehensive reviews of MEP designs, taking into consideration factors such as HVAC zoning, equipment selection, pipe sizing, electrical distribution, lighting, fire protection, and water supply systems. Identify potential risks and propose suitable alternatives or modifications.

Quality Assurance: Review MEP drawings, specifications, and other project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Participate in site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to design intent and identify any potential design or construction constraints.

Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in MEP systems design for commercial office spaces. Share knowledge and expertise with teammates and contribute to internal knowledge management initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in MEP systems design for commercial office spaces , hospitality , industrial and mega infrastructure projects is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems

  • Proficiency in MEP design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks)

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing deadlines and deliverables

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
