As a Software Development Manager, you will be required to be a hands-on engineer who is responsible leading a team of talented engineers working on building PayPal’s Next Generation Email Notification Platform.

Software engineers at PayPal develop innovative solutions and high quality products that touch millions of people every day around the globe. Our engineers solve some of the most complex technical problems in the world of connected payments across all business units, including PayPal, Braintree, Venmo, and Paydiant by building apps and creating new platforms. Primary Job Responsibilities

As a Software Development Manager, you will be required to be a hands-on engineer who is responsible leading a team of talented engineers working on building PayPal’s Next Generation Email Notification Platform. You will work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and experimentation are a given. You will master both established and cutting edge technologies like Node.JS, React, Java, Spring, J2EE, Casandra, Elastic Search, Kafka, MongoDB among others.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Lead a team, Design, development, and testing of features/functions delivered.

• Collaborating with peers both within their team and across the organization.

• Working with product managers using agile methodologies to deliver high quality solutions on time.

• Working with operations teams to ensure your applications and services are highly available and reliable.

• Supporting your applications and/or services as and when required.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years total experience delivering enterprise class Java services, JavaScript web applications, with at least 3 most recent years working with React.js, Node.js, Angular, Ember, Babel, Webpack, Underscore, etc.

• 3 years’ experience leading a team of engineers in manager capacity

• Experience with test automation: TDD, unit/integration/functional testing.

• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS, Bootstrap, and cross-browser testing.

• Solid understanding of object oriented design and programming concepts, core JavaScript concepts like scope/closures, the event loop and asynchronous callbacks, promises.

• Have a passion for quality and writing clean, solid, readable code that scales and performs well.

• Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, share knowledge with others and mentor them.
