Oracle Junior Software Engineer, SaaS Observability Engineering in BENGALURU, India
Job Description
What do we do?
The SaaS Observability organization’s mission is to deliver the best observability service to Oracle’s SaaS engineering organizations in a unified, end-to-end manner.
The backend engineering is responsible for building and operating a set of microservices built in Golang and running on Kubernetes, and also orchestrating the cloud infrastructure. The services provide the large-scale telemetry ingestion, metrics, logs, and traces databases, and APIs and alerting, and based on our home-grown codebases and the popular open source projects (such as OpenTelemetry, Mimir, Loki, and Tempo), and integrated with the dashboarding services such as Grafana and the data lake and analytics solutions. The backend services are multi-tenant, highly available, deployed in lots of cloud regions globally.
We are serving thousands of SaaS engineers and dealing with massive volume of telemetry data and queries, and it’s crucial that we keep improving our performance, reliability, and do it more efficiently.
We're looking for a junior level engineer (from 0 to 2+ years of experiences) for the SaaS Observability backend development and operations.
As a team, we are global, and embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a unique perspective to the software.
What are we looking for in you?
BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
Fluent in one of the programming languages: Go, Rust, Java, C++ (we use Go).
Course works or relative experiences with distributed systems, application development, networks, machine learning or AI.
Bonus points:
Experiences with Golang and have built and operated Go based microservices.
Experience with deploying and operating microservices on Kubernetes.
Experience in building and deploying software on any one of the cloud providers like OCI, AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Contribute to the design and development process.
Write high-quality, performant, industry-standard code.
Participate in on-call rotations.
Build and operate backend systems. Improve their reliability, performance, and availability.
Work in a fast-paced environment, alongside top-class engineers.
