INFORMATION ABOUT THE BUSINESS

One of the primary verticals of Global Spend Management-Analytics is Data Engineering where we specialize in Data Ingestion from multiple data sources followed by Data Warehousing, Data Enrichment and Data Management (including security and maintenance). To support data-driven decisions it is imperative to have data in a timely manner and in the right order. Support is provided across multiple Aon business verticals/geographies supporting revenue, savings and process re-engineering activities.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The applicant should have experience in data ingestion, data warehousing and must have good skill-sets on technologies like Python, Snowflake, Spark/PySpark, Databricks, SQL queries and SQL Server. It is important the candidate abide by the rules as defined by the organization (which will be explained in detailed during training).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Candidate will be responsible for developing/maintaining/monitoring data pipelines and creating/monitoring data ingestion jobs.

  • Experience in Data Engineering with good knowledge of technologies like

  • Big data

  • Python

  • Spark/PySpark

  • Snowflake

  • Azure Databricks

  • Amazon S3 (or any cloud-based storage services)

  • StreamSets

  • SQL Server

  • Integrate data from different sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Good experience with Spark/PySpark for data processing and analysis

  • Experience with working on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

  • Work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide valuable insights through data engineering solutions.

  • Adhere to data governance and security policies.

  • Knowledge of professional software development & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, testing & maintenance.

  • Strong debugging, monitoring, and diagnosing skills for solution development & support.

  • Coaching and guiding cross-functional team members.

  • Strong exposure to automation technologies.

    SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to actively participate in team discussions, knowing when to contribute, when to listen, and when to ask questions

  • Passion towards problem-solving and strong decision-making ability

  • Ability to think critically and arrive at elegant solutions to challenging problems

  • Proven track-record delivering high-quality, on-time, elegant solutions

  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and think abstractly
