Intel FPGA SW Validation Engineer in Bengaluru, India

Job Description

  • Researches, designs, develops, and optimizes software tools that enable the use of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).

  • Develops, validates and optimizes synthesis, compilers, FPGA Design flows, assemblers, models, and/or tools that are closely coupled to FPGA silicon, IP, and boards, while leveraging strong knowledge of FPGA hardware, logic design, board design, semiconductor devices, and chip layout.

  • Designs, develops, and optimizes software abstractions and frameworks for acceleration with the FPGA for domains such as deep learning, DSP algorithms, or data analytics.

  • Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.

In Q4 2023, Intel announced Altera will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel.

This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.

Qualifications

  • Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/VLSI/Digital Design or other related disciplines, with 3+ years of experience in FPGA/ASIC/Structured-ASIC Domain covering :
  1. FPGA/Digital Logic Design, RTL design and verification using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.

  2. Experienced in FPGA Flows, Architectures and Tools like Synplify, Altera Quartus, Xilinx Vivado

  3. Good experience in FPGA Partial Reconfiguration (PR), SignalTap or ChipScope or other debugging tools and methodologies

  4. Good experience with Simulation/Verification/Formal Verification of digital designs using VCS, Questa, XCelium, Timing analysis and Hardware validation of FPGA Designs

  5. Knowledge of Shell, Perl/TCL or Python Scripting is desired

  6. Knowledge of Bus Protocols such as AXI, AMBA, Avalon bus protocols, High-Speed interfaces, Digital Signal Processing is an added advantage
