Job Description Summary

GE Digital's Manufacturing Commercial team is growing, do you have what it takes to be our next Channel Manager? This role will lead channel partner(s) in the India. Imagine yourself in a customer facing role, responsible for winning and growing our business! Professionals at this level operate with some autonomy, but are covered by well-defined commercial policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (typically annual volume, margin and compliance requirements).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Selling to or through partners and distributors. May include channel sales support and channel development duties.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of own and others sales territory, product lines, markets, sales processes or customer groups and uses analytical thinking and commercial experience to execute policy/strategy.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses judgment and is able to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers.

  • Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

  • These sales jobs will mainly be individual contributors.

  • Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED)

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Management for large territories within Manufacturing software solutions - MES, SCADA, Historian

  • A proven track-record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, and a desire to grow new business

  • Stellar sales methodology training

  • Ability to communicate using English and local language

  • Experience with SalesForce.com, LinkedIn and Cloud Computing

  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 50%

  • Legal authorization to work in India

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience understanding customer needs and business drivers and using this knowledge to develop account plans and strategies (knowledge of the existing account areas/channels would be advantageous).

  • Persistence in developing prospects and customers, and ability to close business

  • Strong financial acumen and interpersonal skills

  • Succinct communicator with excellent negotiation, organization and conflict resolution abilities

  • Transitions to becoming a trusted advisor who is not afraid to identify challenges the customer faces internally and provide assistance in overcoming them.

  • Achieves and maintains direct involvement in customer discussions about expected business outcomes, benefits, and value from the solution
