It is an exciting time to be at Aon! We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced data engineer to join a highly motivated and hardworking team, working on one of Aon flagship applications. The ideal candidate can take a requirement through its life cycle, from analysis, architecture, and design, to development, testing and implementation. This is a position where you will have a visible impact on the product and its success.

Required Experience:

• Over 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer.

• High proficiency of knowledge in data storage and retrieval

• Competent in programming for automation and data processing using Python or Scala, and SQL.

• Proficient in programming with Apache Spark using PySpark or Scala.

• Familiar with big data file formats such as Avro, Parquet, and Optimized Row-Columnar (ORC).

• Experienced in designing and developing data integration (ETL/ELT) processes, including data cleansing and preparation for modeling.

• Experienced in developing data engineering solutions that follow software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, automated deployment, and environment segregation.

• Proficient with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, including data design in production environments.

• Knowledgeable in Master Data Management with hands-on experience in MDM tools.

• Strong understanding of Data Security, Data Governance, and Data Operations, with the ability to meet these essential non-functional requirements.

• Experienced in using Databricks to build and deploy scalable data engineering solutions will be an advantage.

• Proficient with integration tools like Workato, Snaplogic, StreamSets, SSIS, or other visual pipeline development environments will be an advantage.
