Amazon Control Systems Engineer, Ops Engg in Bengaluru, India

Description

Amazon India is seeking an experienced and technology oriented Control Systems Engineer to develop new Mechatronics solutions within the IN Team for Advanced Technologies. Successful candidates will have strong experience in designing control panel, Industrial networks, coding and implementing Mechatronic control systems.

The role will support Automation Manager and work with other Design and Innovation Engineers, Maintenance Specialists, Software Engineers, and Material Handling System (MHS) vendors to design and develop solutions for a variety of supply chain process challenges. Candidate will also work on R&D prototypes of Conveying systems, high-speed package sortation, label application, robotic material handling, Order consolidation, and packaging.

The Engineer will lead large-scale control engineering projects and new products by Reviewing control system configuration, vendor drawings, IO assignments, PLC programs, HMI or SCADA developments, leveraging and building scalable distributed application software, and driving projects with internal and external teams. Key job responsibilities

Work with internal Amazon teams and external vendors to deliver innovations and CAPEX projects.

· Design, develop, code and implement Mechatronic control systems.

· Plan and track deliverables.

· Technical support to Procurement in tender proposal, cost analysis

· Product development documentation, project design, document submission for material handling/conveyor automation

· Develop functional requirements documentation and designs for PLC software and user interfaces

· Deliver the system for a project, fully tested and documented according to the required specifications and project timing.

· Perform application engineering of HMI/PLC systems for fully automated Warehouse Control Systems.

· Design, code, specify, and test PLC, HMI and AC drive software.

· Respond to and resolve on-site technical and commissioning issues

· Get involved in the new layout design

· Management of subcontractors delivering electrical & Controls installations

· Carryout Functional test, FAT and Support Installations

· Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution on a need basis.

· Coordinate information between various teams in the organization and work very closely with the Ops Engineering, Real Estate, IT and Operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering or related field 3+ years of experience with Motor Controls (motor starts, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components) 5+ years of experience with programming HMI components 5+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs. Knowledge of multiple programming languages like Ladder, FBD, SCL, STL etc. 3+ years with SCADA systems and KPI's 3+ years of interpreting and modifying electrical and controls drawings 2+ Years of experience in Industrial Ethernet and modern field buses (e.g. PROFIBUS, Ethernet IP, ASi)

  • Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience with intra-logistics industry 2+ year of experience with Robotics system components and controls 2+ Years of experience in the management of subcontractors delivering electrical installations and control systems. 2+ year of experience in Ignition SCADA development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of software interface and business logic between control system and management system
