Oracle 5G Software Engineering Manager in BENGALURU, India

Job Description

We are looking to hire 5G Software Engineering Manager:

To handle a Communications 4G/5G Cloud-Native Engineering Team that involves Designing, Coding, Unit Testing Automation, Customer Sustenance, Managing Cloud Environment workspace, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for databases, applications, tools, and networks.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software development and automation to handle software engineering tasks associated with design, coding, test planning, automation, troubleshooting and debugging, and handling cloud-native environments. Collaborating with internal and external teams, as well as multi-functional teams, provides technical mentorship & support. Needs to work closely with the Product Management/Fields teams for requirements, priorities, and planning for deliveries within the defined timelines. Needs to work with the team on process improvement, Code Coverage Improvement, Customer issues handling, Team management, a Competency Improvement Plan for the team, and new hiring.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is optimally executed to meet Corporate compliance. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication, analytical skills, and a detailed understanding of the product portfolio and QA processes

BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area 10–12 years of software development/engineering or related experience, and be responsible for the team as an engineering manager for around 4–5 years.

Job Description:

This is a Software Engineering manager role for 4G/5G Cloud Native Policy/BSF

Roles and Responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and support Oracle 4G/5G networking application software using cloud-native principles and Java on the Linux platform.

Proven knowledge and/or experience in the following areas are required:

  • 12–15 years of experience in software development in telecom (4G & 5G) Core network functions using Cloud Native principles

  • Software development & management experience of 5-7 years

  • Must have Telecom Core experience.

  • Experience in Cloud-native technologies (microservices)

  • Java/J2EE on Linux Platform

  • Experience using Agile Processes and Ways of Working (Development & QA).

  • Experience using microservices, Kubernetes, and Docker-based frameworks.

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of standard software development processes and product life cycles are required.

  • Ability to work and manage a team of 10–12 members (span across multiple time zones)

  • Ability to drive continuous improvements and operational excellence.

  • Knowledge of software development methodology, build tools, and the product life cycle

  • Collaborative and open style with a constructive and positive attitude.

  • Ability to analyse and think quickly and resolve conflict.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing environments.

  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.

Knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

Working experience in the following technologies is preferred: Telecom (4G & 5G) Core, Java/J2EE , and Cloud-Native Environment.

Working experience with Management/Development Tools, Jira, Confluence, and MS Excel.

Experience in Project Planning and Scrum Agile(SAFe)
