The Merchandise Manager is responsible for the supply and management of merchandise products for sale in Deschutes Brewery and Boneyard Beer pubs, tasting rooms, and ecommerce sites, as well as promotional products leveraged at retail stores and various events. Regular responsibilities include selecting and organizing item assortments, managing supply and cost of items, owning vendor relationships, overseeing merchandise profitability at our brick & mortar locations, and coordinating across relevant departments to support team needs. The Merchandise Manager is an integral part of amplifying the Deschutes and Boneyard brands while driving revenue and profitability. This position is on-site and based out of Bend, OR.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own sourcing and vendor relationships for all merchandise and promotional / point-of-sale products

• Assist in developing pricing strategies and negotiate competitive pricing with vendors

• Manage inventory and day-to-day purchasing of all merchandise and promotional items and materials

• Develop and manage go-to-market and line planning processes for new items and seasonal merchandise launches

• Oversee management of ecommerce sites and presentation of merchandise products online in collaboration with key vendors

• Maintain strong internal relationships with Sales, Marketing, and Food & Beverage/Pub teams to understand merchandise requirements and ensure needs are met

• Lead merchandise and promotional product initiatives, propose new initiatives to innovate and continuously improve our product offering

• Track industry trends, monitor competitive landscape, and support graphic design team along with vendor partners in developing attractive, on-trend merchandise products

• Develop and maintain assortment of merchandise and promotional products in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Brick & Mortar teams

• New item setup, SKU creation, and maintenance in ERP system and vendor managed systems

• Monitor quality of merchandise and provide appropriate and timely feedback to vendors as issues surface

• Collaborate with Finance team to meet company goals for inventory levels, profitability, and top-line revenue

• All other duties as assigned

  Special Position Requirements:

• Skilled using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Strong analytical and data analysis skills leveraging ERP system, Excel, and other tools

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication

• Ability to problem solve, multi-task and handle various degrees of planning and forecasting

• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment

• Strong inventory management and financial management skills

  Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of managing a merchandise program for a national brand

• Previous inventory management experience across multiple SKUs and locations

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in related field preferred

• Previous beverage/ alcohol experience preferred
