Amazon Software Development Engineer, FinTech Payments in Bellevue, Washington

Description

FinTech Payments team owns the technical systems responsible for making billions of dollars worth of payments each month to Amazon vendors and partners across the globe. We use AWS and other cutting edge technologies to build scalable services and applications to ensure accurate on-time payments. We partner with financial institutions and other Amazon teams to leverage the best in class features that the banks and finance technology companies have to offer. We delight our payees by paying them when they want and how they want. We build software Applications that facilitate global financial transactions that rival the complexity and scale of dedicated FinTech companies.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver a Best-in-Class customer experience by continuously improving systems, code and services to enable payments

  • Build software to enable Global/World wide Payments including instant payments and other cutting edge payments services.

  • Build services/integrations with Financial Applications

  • Leverage the latest developments in technology to reduce operational costs

  • Partner directly with other Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Technical Program Managers, Product Managers and Customers to understand features and continuously identify opportunities to build and deploy software solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
