Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, IES DEX in Bellevue, Washington

Description

We are the India and Emerging Stores DEX team and are responsible for improving Amazon’s 0-Day, 1-Day, 2-Day speed perception sustainably while reducing Cost-to-Serve across India and Emerging Stores by building relevant speed and region-aware experiences across the Amazon shopping funnel. We own various platform infrastructure & capabilities that enable regionalization of 40+MM ASINs across all deployment regions in which Amazon operates. This platform can concurrently run multiple programs across various marketplaces, and has integrated with WW platforms such as Shipping, Search, P13N, DEX AI, FMA and IOP.

We are currently looking for a Software Development Engineer II, who will have the opportunity to own problems end-to-end and work with some of the best minds in Amazon. This role will have a strong emphasis on designing highly scalable and extensible applications.

Key job responsibilities

You will design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges by utilizing your software engineering skills. You will have a broad range of responsibilities from design, development, testing, deployment and operations. You would have easy access to Sr SDEs, and Principal Engineers to bounce off your ideas and discuss tech solutions.

A day in the life

On a day-to-day basis, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with a team of software engineers, product managers, tpms and biz partners. You will share ideas to improve and shape the products you build. You will design and build right technical solutions to meet needs of our customers. You will have a chance to learn many systems and your work will improve the systems' extensibility, scalability and availability, and impact millions of customers! Additionally, you will contribute to the development of yourself and your colleagues through peer code-reviews and mentoring, improving the technical knowledge and engineering practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
