Amazon Senior Operations Engineer - Capacity, Rural Super Rural (RSR) Delivery in Bellevue, Washington

This role is open to Bellevue, WA or Nashville, Tennessee or Phoenix Arizona.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Engineer to join our team and support the strategic planning and engineering capacity efforts for our last mile rural delivery network. This individual will take ownership of a process and product roadmap, driving innovation at scale to shape the future of our delivery stations. This is a pivotal role at a critical juncture in our company's growth, offering a unique opportunity to lead end-to-end product delivery from conception to execution.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Capacity Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive capacity planning strategy for the last mile rural delivery network, considering factors such as operational challenges, seasonal variations, and growth projections.

  2. Data Analysis: Analyze data related to delivery volumes, operations clocks, building capacity, and other relevant metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

  3. Forecasting: Develop accurate forecasts for future delivery volumes and resource requirements based on historical data, operational trends, and business projections.

  4. Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize operation’s clocks, building utilization, and resource allocation to improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining service levels.

  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including volume planning, operations, network expansion, and technology to develop and implement capacity strategies that align with overall business objectives.

  6. Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity strategies, making adjustments and improvements as necessary to ensure optimal performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field

  • Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $95,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
