System One is offering an exciting remote opportunity for a Nuclear Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer on a 12-month contract.

In this role, you will ensure the quality of software products developed and released according to the Software Management Plan, specifically for engineering design and analysis software used in the development of the Natrium reactor. Embedded within the Core Design team, you will support the software development lifecycle in compliance with the ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) standards.

Your work will include procedural compliance, code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure the software meets the required quality standards. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, leveraging the latest industry practices and tools to ensure compliance and maintain control of software applications developed for Linux-based high-performance computing (HPC) platforms.

Team Environment: As part of the geographically diverse Core Design team, you will work alongside nuclear, thermal hydraulic, and mechanical engineers. The team is responsible for developing methods, models, and tools to evaluate the performance of Natrium reactor core structures, systems, and components.

Responsibilities:

• Train and guide software development teams on software management plans and procedures.

• Support software quality activities across the engineering teams by integrating quality into the software development process.

• Develop and maintain software quality assurance materials, including procedures, guidelines, and templates.

• Review software quality planning, design, implementation, and test documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and procedural standards.

Key Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field (preferred), with 4+ years of relevant experience.

• Experience working under 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B programs.

• Familiarity with Configuration Control and Version Control Systems.

• Understanding of continuous integration practices.

• High degree of integrity, strong communication skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
