eBay, Inc. seeks Data Scientist 2 in Bellevue, WA

Job Duties: Analyze AB test results and causal inference outputs to extract key insights, communicate findings to product owners. Research and apply state-of-the-art A/B test methodologies to improve eBay's experimentation platform. Define and enforce experimentation best practices to ensure data accuracy, validity and trustworthy results. Use R and Python to obtain experimentation metadata and build dashboards to facilitate experiment excellence tracking and reporting. Work on democratizing experimentation and maintaining ease-of-use for the experimenters. Collaborate with engineering peers to design scalable, automated, and robust data analysis pipelines and processes for metrics monitoring, large scale data analysis, and A/B testing. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

 Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in Statistics.

 Special Skill Requirements:

1. Statistical analysis, modeling algorithms and causal inference methods
2. A/B testing methodologies (e.g., power analysis, Bayesian testing and test-driven decision making)
3. R and Python for data collection
4. Statistical modeling and prediction
5. Data mining and data manipulation methods using structured query language in large data sets.
6. Spark-SQL and Hadoop

Base salary: $150,987-234,850 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
