We are seeking a skilled Die Repair Person to join our team. Ideal candidates will possess a Journeyman Card, but we encourage all experienced individuals to if they can meet the following criteria:

Key Requirements:

• Experience with progressive stamping dies, particularly those used in presses over 300 tons.

• Proficiency in using standard toolroom machining equipment, including but not limited to Bridgeport machines, surface grinders, wet grinders, lathes, and drill presses.

Additional Skills (Preferred but not Required):

• Knowledge of TIG welding.

• Experience working with transfer dies.

Responsibilities

This full-time, hourly role is a part of the Tooling team and reports to the Tooling Manager.

$32.50 an hour, plus $1.00 shift premium & $2.00 per hour additional for Journeyman

3rd shift - 10pm-6am

Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces

• Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, or EDM machines to fabricate parts

• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using hand tools or precision measuring instruments

• Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects using precision measuring instruments

• Test completed tools or dies to ensure that they meet specifications

• Troubleshoot issues with tooling or equipment to identify root causes and implement corrective actions

• Collaborate with engineers or tool designers to develop new tooling designs or modify existing ones

• Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance and repairs

• Connects wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.

Required skills:

• Experience repairing large dies both inside presses and outside presses

• Proficiency in hydraulics systems

• Welding experience for fabrication or repair work

• Journeyman card preferred - $2.00 per hour additional for Journeyman
