DESCRIPTION OF WORK During this internship, you will support mechanics in developing the essential skills required for safe and effective operation within an automotive garage environment. The student worker will acquire competencies necessary for conducting general repairs and maintenance on automobiles and light-duty trucks. Responsibilities will include assisting with or executing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, utilizing power tools, hand tools, and air tools once proficiency is established. Additionally, the intern will be expected to maintain cleanliness and serviceability of the work area, tools, and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment.

It is crucial for the intern to engage actively by asking questions whenever uncertainties arise or when faced with unfamiliar challenges. This proactive approach will facilitate learning and enhance problem-solving skills. Furthermore, adherence to safety protocols is paramount throughout the internship, ensuring that all tasks are performed in a manner that prioritizes personal and team safety. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

School term schedule will vary based on agreement between high school and COPA location. High School internship is for the 2024-2025 school year (September 3, 2024 - June 30, 2025). Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age. You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Additional Requirements:

Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity. Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position. By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position. You must be able to perform essential job functions. How to Apply:
