Finance Professional – Northern Ireland (Maternity cover)

As our key business partner to the sales leaders and the primary point of contact for the business, you will be responsible for holding business leaders accountable for delivering their sales and profit targets. You’ll use financial data and insights to drive action and optimize productivity and performance—both tactically and strategically.

Your work will play a critical role in supporting the customer-facing sales channel, ensuring they meet their financial targets in support of CPS, Business, and BT as a whole.

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Month end & reporting: Responsible for the month-end accounting and reporting of applicable areas of the P&L and balance sheet. Regular monthly tracking of performance (using key indicators) and early flagging of performance variance. Is aware of and is flagging any prospective underperformance or opportunities at the earliest opportunity.

  • Financial Planning: Management of budget and forecasts. Ensuring robust cost forecasting and controls, including management of financial risks and growth opportunities.

  • Data Analysis: Drive a data-led and insight orientated culture, ensuring high quality data sets for decision making are available.

  • Business Partnering: Business partnering the NI Account Team for a number of key customers to improve the impact, and understanding, of financial performance of the unit.

  • Stakeholder Management: Owning the day-to-day financial relationship with the wider BT Finance team and NI Account Team ranging from billing processes, including calculation of invoices and provision of customer back-up spreadsheets.

  • Cost Transformation: Supports EBITDA/Cost Transformation. Takes proactive ownership of EBITDA improvement projects and works with the wider business to achieve beneficial results.

You'll have the following skills & experience

  • Experience in using IT tools to manipulate and simply summarise large and complex data sets e.g. intermediate to advanced excel.

  • Senior Stakeholder experience and working within highly matrixed environments.

  • Experience working collaboratively with non-finance teams.

  • Developed an internal network of strong working relationships you can call on to assist with your role.

  • Tackled process/policy obstacles to delivery.

  • Coordinated the work of colleagues or team to fit within a broader programme of work.
