Position Purpose

Reporting to the Head Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A) Center of Excellence (CoE), APAC, you will make a significant impact in specific Therapeutic Area across the region and Janssen China in particular to drive market leading, insight led competitiveness. You will lead and inspire a team of 6 analysts and partner closely with both market and regional based commercial leaders to build data driven brand strategies and drive optimal performance. You will drive best in class patient-based forecasting, clearly articulating the potential impact at key leverage points on the patient journey across multiple markets

Key Responsibility Areas

l Regional Therapeutic Area BI&A : Lead specific TA Business Insights & Analytics across the APAC countries. Generate strategic input, focused insights and recommendations at TA level. Benchmarking performance across regional and global.

l People Leadership: Provides credo-based leadership influence without authority, and inspires others in the strategic vision of the organization. Set strategic direction for the Business Insights & Analytics Team integrated with APAC BI&A COE; coach and develop direct reports and drive a Talent focus, attracting, developing, and retaining talents.

l Business Insights & Analytics: generate, deliver and embed meaningful insights and recommendations derived from connecting data and employing best in class analytics and benchmarking. Contribute to building enterprise capability in advanced analytics by finding opportunities for connection of data sets and acquisition of new data sets, along with strategic input in areas for innovation and proof of concept testing

l Business Engagement & Partnering: proactively build and nurture relationships with key business partners to drive insight-based decision making; surface opportunities and risks against plans based on sound analytics and insight generation; collaborate with the business on plans to address opportunities associated with Products and Customers. Define and respond to key business questions by synergizing the capabilities of internal and external partners in the fields of market research, analytics, forecasting and competitive intelligence.

l Strategic & Operational Business Planning: lead the annual Business & Strategic Planning process, coordinating patient forecast model development and management; manage the sales consolidation and reconciliation process; collaborate with the Finance Team and broader business to learn and iteratively improve the process.

l Lead Janssen China wide initiatives as an active member of Janssen China Extended Leadership Team.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent, MBA or Masters preferred in the field of Business/Marketing/Economics/Life Science

  • 10-12 years related commercial experience

  • In depth knowledge of China healthcare environment & systems or ability

Key Working Relationships

  • President of Janssen China

  • Business Unit Head and members of management leadership team in China

  • Regional APAC BI&A Center of Excellence (CoE) team and relevant regional / global stakeholders

  • Other commercial organizations (e.g. Medical Affairs, Integrated Market Access) in local OpCo

  • Functional leaders, including all non-commercial functions and not limited only to Finance, HR

  • Relevant HCP professional groups / customers
