Job Title: Vacuum Furnace Operator Location: Bedford, PA Shift: 2nd (Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm)

Job Summary:

Operate vacuum and pressure sintering furnaces and abrasive machines. Key Job Responsibilities:

Perform pre-operation checks for machines. Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment. (i.e., furnaces) Operates vacuum, partial pressure and pressurized sintering furnaces, maintaining water, vacuum, temperature, helium, hydrogen, and argon conditions in furnaces. Build and sort heat according to shop orders. Maintains furnace cycles by using programmable controllers. Operates a tumbler and blasting equipment to de-burr and clean surfaces of various carbide products. Operate a small surface grinder. Selects and prepares parts for testing. Inspects sintered carbide parts to meet established ISO requirements Report shop orders and package parts to meet established due dates. Track and problem solve furnace issues to reduce cost. Monitor established WIP controls for area Accurate and timely recording of required data (i.e., production, quality, etc.) Confirm all products and batches are written on furnace sheet. Confirm the proper temp. for all grades in heat. Perform HC Test on all pieces on the board. Perform Mag. SAT. test on each product and batch. Perform RA test on required pieces. Gather porosity pieces and determine if heat is held. Enter readings for K322's Enter all pressing and sintering information. Enter in SAP. Misc. testing for powder approval / green defects. Inspect product for cracks, flaws., etc. on the outside (30 power scope) Fracture and inspect all pieces for internal cracks, grade contamination, dirt, large grains, pit, and flaws. Required Experience: Minimum Level of Education - High School. 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Mfg. Quality Measurement Methods, Intermediate Computer Skills. Must be able to carry/lift up to 50lbs and push/pull 100+ lbs. Must be able to kneel/stoop, Stand, Sit and Walk for prolonged periods of time. Preferred Experience: Knowledge in manufacturing safety, teamwork, communication, business acumen, trouble shooting, problem solving, and quality control.
