Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Roboticist to design, develop, and support advanced robotic manipulation software deployed in production environments. This role focuses on creating high-performance software solutions for robotic manipulation, including motion planning, kinematics, control strategies, and motion execution. The successful candidate will utilize and extend simulation software environments to test and refine manipulation development, ensuring robust performance. Collaboration with hardware engineers, product managers, and other software teams is essential to integrate these capabilities into our broader robotic systems.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support advanced robotic manipulation software deployed in production environments.
Create high-performance software solutions for robotic manipulation, focusing on motion planning, kinematics, control strategies, and motion execution.
Utilize and extend simulation software environments to test and refine manipulation development, ensuring expected and robust performance.
Develop software to effectively enable multi-arm manipulation capabilities into our solutions.
Work closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and other software teams to integrate capabilities into our broader robotic systems.
Communicate technical priorities and status effectively.
Essential Skills
Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
6+ years of experience in software development applied to robotic manipulation.
Proficiency in Python, ROS, and Linux.
Experience with robotic manipulation, motion planning, kinematics, and motion execution.
Expertise in developing software for multi-arm coordination and environment representation.
Skilled in using simulation tools to test and validate robotic systems.
Strong understanding of system design and design patterns.
Experience in software development using Linux, C++, and RTOS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with ROS 2, MoveIt!, and OpenRAVE.
Familiarity with modern C++ and drivers for robotic hardware.
Knowledge of Fanuc Robot arms.
Experience with API and SDK development for robotic systems.
Understanding of RESTful and gRPC protocols.
Experience with parallel and distributed systems.
Knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB.
Familiarity with the Docker ecosystem.
Work Environment
This role requires onsite work five days a week in Bedford, MA.
