Description

Company has large amount of long term employees. Role is replacing 25 plus year employee who is retiring. Owners take very good care of employees. Great work life balance.

This position is responsible for the successful and efficient operation of the Finance Department overseeing all companies; for the reliable distribution of income and expense, for accuracy of monthly balance sheets and related financial reports for the companies in compliance with sound accounting practices for the businesses, their respective sizes and in their industries. Oversees the Human Resources Department to ensure compliance standards and departmental procedures. Work as an integral part of the management team implementing company strategies, analyzing income and expenses.

A. Essential Accounting Duties to include:

● Payroll Weekly for Exempt/Non-exempt employees, overseeing the accuracy of all costs, expenses and distributions to the appropriate accounts.

● General Ledger – Oversee all General Ledger transactions, prepare month-end entries and reconciliations for all companies.

● Accounts Payable and Receivable – Oversee AP and AR functions, maintaining accurate control over extensions, terms, due dates, authorization documents, account distribution, etc., in addition to accurate documentation of payments, balances, and amounts.

● Financial Reporting – providing accurate and timely monthly reports of financial statements for all companies.

● Billing – Weekly and monthly account invoicing for all companies

● Credit/Collection – Maintaining customer credit line levels, terms, and all levels of follow-up with customers and vendors.

● Taxes and Other – Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual tax filings including sales tax, fuel tax, federal and state income tax estimates as well as other routine fillings.

● Budgets/Business Plans – Assist with annual budgeting process; provide required materials for annual Corporate and other insurances; provide Cost Analysis where applicable to ensure cost effectiveness.

● Financial Controls – Maintain and review department processes and procedures to ensure accurate controls are in place.

● Human Resources - Have a solid, working knowledge of Human Resources practices and current legislation changes and updates. Work with the HR Manager in a productive manner that is conducive to the business model.

● Management - Responsible for the supervision of the Finance Staff and the HR Manager, ensuring accurate and quality work.

● Relationships – Maintain professional relationships with outside CPA’s, banks, insurance brokers, outside vendors and customers, as well as all departments throughout the businesses.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

● A minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

● A 4-year degree in an Accounting or Financial Major ● Knowledge of PA Sales & Use Tax required; Fuel Taxes a plus ● CPA or CMA desirable, but not required.

● Management and Supervisory experience required

● A working knowledge of basic Human Resources functions preferred.

● Possess good computer skills, including MS Office and Google Workspace. Additional inventory and accounting software packages preferred.

● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

● Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate, trouble shoot and problem solve situations with internal and external customers and vendors

● Must be able to work independently within the structure of the team

● Ability to maintain discretion and preserve confidentiality when dealing with operational and personnel matters
