Fortive Corporation Test Engineering Technician in Beaverton, Oregon
The Test Engineering Technician reports directly to a Test Engineering Manager and supports Test Engineering and Operations on test application and product development, new test system development, product test application validation and verification and ongoing production test support.
Test Engineering Technician primary job responsibilities include:
Support:
Develop and maintain documentation on test stations and train equipment maintenance technicians on the maintenance and repair of released test systems to production
Become the technical support on test system design and function (including diagnostic test process and reports)
Support equipment maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve test system problems to minimize down time and recommend solutions to Test Engineering
IT Support - Maintain system configurations of test station computers
Support metrological processes including calibration scheduling, data gathering and out of tolerance incident resolution
Development:
Support development of continuous improvements to test stations and next generation architectures
Support Test Engineering with program specific tasks
Execute experiments and production qualifications runs
Manage test engineering lab (including ESD audits)
Test System Builds:
Schedule – Develop outline schedule for test system builds
Material – Manage test system bill of materials and procurement; including procurement of test instrumentation
Build – Execute build of test system and creation/updates of assembly instructions and test controller configurations.
Build and configure test system controllers
Problem Solve – work with Test Engineering team to resolve issues as they arise
Release – Validate that equipment is ready to release for Engineering use
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
Minimum Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree or comparable military training in Engineering Technology or related field, or 5 years experience related to electrical engineering technician work or Information Technology.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Flexibility – Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Effectiveness –Must possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative; Effectively prioritize and follow through on assignments and projects
Troubleshooting/Debug – Experience troubleshooting electronic and mechanical products is required
Communication – Excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication and teamwork; Possess strong written and oral communication skills
Tools - Must have experience with Windows Office Suite (including: word processing, spreadsheet software, project planning, presentation, e-mail and flow charts)
Security Clearance:
- The applicant may be required to apply and procure a security clearance after being hired.
Preferred:
Package and Wafer handler operation and troubleshooting experience
Windows and UNIX operating system operation and configuration experience
Network administration experience
Lean – Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
ERP/MRP System – Understanding of Oracle data base data entry and analysis
Continuous Improvement – Experience interacting with engineering on continuous improvement projects; Experience with analytical problem-solving skills to solve technical problems
Test Equipment – Experience with operation of electronic test equipment; Ability to use and understand general test equipment including digital multi-meters (DMM), power supplies, sources meters, torque wrenches, etc.; Background in practical electronics, electronic test equipment and troubleshooting
Schematics – Ability to use schematics to conduct fault isolation
Experience in software code development
Quality – Experience in a regulated environment, such as ISO and AS9100
Shift Schedule and Working Environment:
Tektronix Component Solutions is a 24/7 manufacturing facilities in a clean room environment. We are hiring for multiple shifts. This position is for the weekend swing shift (Friday through Sunday from 5:00 pm to 5:30 am). The ability wear cleanroom attire and adhere ESD policies is required.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; balance; crouch, stoop, twist, kneel, use hands to finger, handle, grasp, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, some overhead push/pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs . The employee is occasionally required to lift more than 50 lbs.; climb; twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Employee will occasionally operate forklift and various lifts/hoists.
